Manaslu Expedition

Manaslu is the eighth highest mountain in the world, located in the Mansiri Himal, part of the Nepalese Himalayas. Manaslu is derived from the Sanskrit word Manasa and is translated as "Mountain of the Spirit".

Manaslu is the highest peak in the Gurkha massif and is located about forty miles east of Annapurna, the tenth highest mountain. The mountain's long ridges and valley glaciers offer feasible approaches from all directions, and culminate in a peak that towers steeply above its surrounding landscape, and is a dominant feature when viewed from afar. Manaslu was first climbed on May 9, 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu, members of a Japanese expedition.

Best Season: Spring is the best but Autumn is good.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Days 02 – 03: Official formalities and expedition preparation
Day 04: Kathmandu - Gorkha by bus.
Day 05: Trek to Khanchwok. (750 m.)
Day 06: Trek to Arughat. (800 m.)
Day 07: Trek to Soti Khola. (815 m.)
Day 08: Trek to Machhakhola
Day 09: Trek to Lauri.
Day 10: Trek to Serson.
Day 11: Trek to Deng.
Day 12: Trek to Ghap. (2050 m.)
Day 13: Trek to Namrung.
Day 14: Trek to Syala.
Day 15: Trek to Sama Gaun. (3390 m.)
Day 16: Trek to Manaslu base camp (4200 m.)
Days 17 – 45: Climbing period
Day 46: Clean up the base camp
Day 47 - 51: Retrace to Gorkha / Dhading
Day 52: Drive back to Kathmandu
Day 53: Free day in Kathmandu
