Mountain Biking in Nepal

Mountain Biking is a fast way to see rural Nepal. Nepal's extraordinary contours and numerous tracks and trails make it an ideal place for mountain biking. You not only climb up and down challenging mountain roads but also have wonderful opportunity to admire the magnificent scenery around. We also organize cycling tours around the Kathmandu Valley and beyond. Cycling is a great way to travel around Nepal and it is becoming progressively more popular. The mountain biking possibilities and streets are "endless" in Nepal. There are many mountain mud trails that have created a paradise for the biker.
Nepal has many trails to ride on. You can select any of them depending upon your mood and stamina. So it is solely upon you if you want to make a challenging climb thousands of meters to reach a picturesque point or you make an exhilarating descent to Royal Chitwan National Park. Talking of dampeners, the comparatively longer tracks require physical fitness and great stamina. There is no paperwork but you are not allowed to use regular bikes on prescribed tracks. Only mountain bikes are allowed.
Although more crowded than tracks of Northern Nepal, the Kathmandu valley provides some great opportunity for rides. It has many hidden trails. It is arguably the best way to visit the interesting towns, Temples and Stupas. There are things to keep in mind. Don't venture out at all without a proper trail map; say Schneider Trail Map, and a good compass. Keep a good sense of tracks and directions and yes, carry a Nepali phrasebook. You never know when you will need to brush up a bit of Nepalese.
A five-day biking trail around the most scenic parts of the Kathmandu Valley, boasting plenty of temples, Himalayan views and beautiful villages.
This route is perfect for biking. Unlike some of the other trekking trails that have been repackaged as biking routes, the Kathmandu Valley trail is fairly straightforward with minimal need to get off and push or carry the bike (unless you really want to). The route follows local trails and off-road jeep tracks through paddy fields, woodlands and along hilltop ridges. From the spectacular view points offered up by the trail, eight of the Nepal’s top ten highest peaks can be seen. Pass through local villages and hidden temples bustling with life as we wind our way away from the city smoke to a world altogether different…
